Edits on Banished continue and the finish line is in sight. I am having fun with these edits, revisiting and rediscovering parts of the story I wrote so many months ago, before we sold our house, before we moved across country, before I began my new job. When I first outlined the chapters at the beginning of 2018, I had worried that it might be a struggle to reach my goal of 100,000 words. With about 1/4 left to edit, the word count is already over 130,000, so I am very happy about that. In addition to the regular editing issues, this book has the added dimension of many elven phrases which need to be meticulously reviewed and spell-checked, further slowing down an already laborious job.
To express my gratitude for the words of encouragement I received from my last blog entry and to thank you for your patience, I would like to share with you something that I commissioned from my awesome cover designer, Ryann of Keylligraphy Ink, a drawing of Kyreen in Talamh sa bhaile Si′, as the elves call their realm.
As always, dear friends and readers, thank you for your support!
